As I was leaving the Rosamond Gifford Zoo the other day, I decided to take a quick drive over to Woodland Reservoir and see what it looked like. It was well worth the trip! There are 19 miles between the water source (Skaneateles Lake) and this reservoir which sits on the edge of the city. It was a major engineering feat for its time. The reservoir was built in the late 1800’s and some of the original 1894 buildings still exist along the edge of the reservoir. The reservoir itself is still in use today. I took this picture with my new Canon 5D Mark III (with the kit 24-105L lens). I have a feeling that this is a location I will be visiting often.
