Electricity

Electricity.  Come on.  You know you want it.  You know you’ll use it, possibly abuse it, and not even say thank you.  Except for my friends Roxanne and Annie who love and cuddle each and every photon that they use.  I know.  I’ve seen the pictures.

Tonight we stopped at the grocery store and as we were walking in I noticed the power lines next to the parking lot.  I thought about the fact that I walk past them a couple times a month and I think about the engineering feat of how such a thin structure can be so tall and stable in CNY weather but I rarely think about the quantity of electricity that pours through those lines every second.  I try to be “green” in many ways but without my camera(s) and computer I’m not sure what I’d do!

I took this photograph with my iPhone using the Hipstamatic App.  The specific settings were John S Lens, Kodot XGrizzled film, and no flash.  The sun was low in the sky and there were some great puffy clouds for an interesting background.
