I am fascinated with old broken down stuff. The more broken down or rusted the better. I especially like abandoned buildings. They were once alive, filled with people who came to them on a regular basis, for better or worse, to produce ideas, things, sweat, blood, tears, memories, you name it. Then something happens and the building is left empty. The life just seeps out of them. And after awhile they are just forgotten. Abandoned to time. It’s the feeling of abandonment that I wanted to capture in this image of an old mill on Six Mile Creek in Ithaca. Plus I liked the interplay of colors.
