Recently I’ve been reading two books: “iPhone Obsessed” by Dan Marcolina and “The Art of iPhoneograhy” by Stephanie C. Roberts. Both of these books are easy to read, have lots of great information for how to create interesting iPhone photos, and provide some excellent ideas for developing your own creative ideas using your iPhone. I’ve been playing around with a variety of camera apps (Hipstamatic, L0-Mob, 100Cameras, Camera+) and software apps (PS Express, Pic Grunger, Photo fx, Percolator, Photosynth, and Pro HDR to name a few). I really like how you can just be walking along somewhere, see something interesting, and snap a quick picture then (if you’re me…) totally lose yourself in playing around with the image to see what will happen. It’s such a different experience than when I take out my DSLR, tripod, filters and then use Lightroom or Photoshop to try to produce an image that portrays what I was seeing and feeling at the time. Here’s a few photos using some of the apps I listed earlier.
